Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the homeroom teacher will include, but are not limited to: • Development of a creative and inspiring programme linked to the IBPYP • Create plans which reflect differentiated learning needs and learning styles • Undertake authentic assessment of all students to ensure student progress and attainment and report such to parents • Demonstrate effective teaching methodologies through a range of appropriate strategies and techniques • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness • Establish high expectations that value and promote learning • Create and foster a positive, respectful and calm learning environment • Work collaboratively within the teaching team and with specialists • Organise school events and after school activities • Develop positive rapport and strong communication lines with students and families • Apply, uphold, and exhibit school’s values, student management policies and culture • Attend open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and other events involving families • Attend and participate in all staff meetings and communicate openly with staff • Inspire a love of learning

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, typically in education, and teaching certificate where applicable • At least two years of teaching experience with a proven record of success • Demonstrated strong pedagogy and passion for early childhood education • Early Years teaching experience (2-6year-olds) • Demonstrated knowledge of inquiry-based learning • Demonstrated success in building relationships and trust with administration, teachers, students, parents and community • IB PYP trained is a plus • Skillful in MS office
